Feria de Nîmes: at €15 a drink, what do you really pay to the Imperator?

Faced with the reaction of many Nîmes to the €15 glass of Ricard, the director of L’imperator responded. Explanation of what the price of drinks at the bodega of this five-star hotel includes.

The photo made the rounds on social networks: the salty bill for a glass of Ricard at the L’Imperator hotel. The Nîmes Jean-Charles Roux gave a rant that made more than one jump (at Prolé, it costs 2€).

These reactions do not alarm Christophe Chalvidal, director of this luxury hotel. On the contrary: “We have never sold so many Ricards since the announcement of Jean-Charles Roux” . He reports that many curious people came to consume this aperitif, which was not sold very well, just to take a picture of the receipt. The director humorously adds: “I thank Jean-Charles Roux for his participation. The next Ricard, I offer it to him!”

Several aperitifs and champagnes also cost €15 at the Imperator. “Slightly more premium alcohols” according to Christophe Chalvidal, who recalls that in the price, there is also the service “in real glass, by real waiters”.

Significant costs

The manager also points out that his hotel has significant infrastructure costs. For the feria, he would have invested nearly €150,000. In addition to the decor and the staff, there is the whole show part, with renowned musicians, such as Jean-Louis Aubert’s guitarist or world-famous Parisian DJs.

Consuming at the Imperator means taking advantage of the artistic offer, the setting, and a security service for the manager.

Christophe Chalvidal rents the diversity of customers at the Feria de Nîmes: “There are those looking to have a good time on the boulevards. And those looking for a bit of luxury, security, comfort.” He specifies that the age of the clients ranges from 20 to 70 years old.
