Innsbruck (OTS) – After an almost year-long tendering process by the Italian Ministry of Tourism, the die has been cast: feratel will equip five more regions with its Deskline destination management system.

In 2022/2023, several providers matched the contract for the implementation of a destination management system for a total of five regions. feratel was convincing and has been commissioned to implement it.

Order volume in the 7-digit euro range

“We are very proud that we will equip other regions in Italy with Deskline and thus play an important role in the digitization step in Italian tourism. With this we are once once more underscoring our technological leadership,” says a pleased CEO Markus Schröcksnadel regarding the order and puts the order volume in the seven-digit euro range.

The feratel Deskline destination management system has been in use since 2010, also following an international tender, in Trentino, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Abruzzo as well as local destinations such as Bormio, Alassio, Finale Ligure and Ferrara.

Deskline, as a comprehensive destination management system, meets all the requirements of tourism stakeholders. The focus is on the powerful content management system for the comprehensive presentation of all tourism products (accommodation, experiences, excursion destinations, gastronomy, events, etc.) and their online bookability on a wide variety of channels such as destination and company websites, apps and portals.

Interfaces to 150 hotel programs and experience providers included

As an information, marketing and booking system, Deskline supports both B2C (end customers) and B2B (for travel agencies and booking portals) functionalities and offers an extensive back office area with billing and payment functionalities. Modern online access and powerful interfaces for 150 hotel programs and experience providers are available for the integration of service partners.

With Deskline, tourism professionals have a system with a whole range of different modules, such as an information management system with an event calendar, a CRM (Customer Relation Management) system, a hotel rating system, a powerful one-stop shop for booking and offering accommodation, packages , experiences and tickets, and much more
A channel management system is also integrated into the system for the additional marketing of the businesses on 30 connected booking portals, including Airbnb and Booking.com.

With Deskline, destinations increase the direct bookability of their operations and thus contribute to increasing the value. With the integrated analysis tools, real-time data on the current demand and occupancy situation is available at the touch of a button, which represents a valuable basis for modern destination management and marketing planning.

1 billion booking turnover

The destination management system Deskline has generated 1 billion euros in mediated booking sales in the past 2 years alone. Almost 123,000 businesses from over 12,450 destinations in Europe are managed via Deskline. The system is in use in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Liechtenstein, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia. The projects cover different sizes – from individual solutions to cross-destination solutions – to country solutions.
