Bruno Gares, President of the French Fencing Federation has resigned from his functions and ended all his federal mandates, the sporting body announced this Friday, September 29, 2023 in a press release. Aged 56, Bruno Gares was elected in September 2020, defeating the outgoing president, Isabelle Lamour. before the Federal Bureau of the FFE, meeting in an exceptional manner, he explained that he took this decision “for personal reasons”.
The federation indicates that “a new president will be elected by the Steering Committee within it, from among the members elected by list ballot, within a maximum period of 3 months” and also specifies that “the management of current bodies and projects remains under the responsibility of the current organization of the Federal Office”.
Friday September 29 in the evening, the FFE has indicated that the Federal Office had elected Brigitte Saint Bonnet, until then vice-president in charge of development, innovation and new technologies, interim President of the federation. (Post updated)
