Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan made it to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Olympics. She won a victory over the representative of Azerbaijan, Anna Bashta, who played for Russia until 2019.
Harlan defeated Bashta in the individual saber tournament in the round of 16 with a score of 15:6. Even earlier, the Ukrainian fencer started at the Olympics in a winning match against the Japanese Shihomi Fukushima with a score of 15:9.
As written “Community Sports“, Harlan’s opponent in the quarterfinals will be Hungarian Anna Marton. The match between them will take place on July 29 at 16:55.
It will be recalled that earlier on Monday, Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid was prematurely eliminated from the competition at the 2024 Olympics. At the start of the extra time, the judge removed Bilodid’s mother and part-time coach for constantly giving tips to her ward. The struggle continued. Both judokas had “shido” in the passive voice – warning.
In the end, the Ukrainian athlete received a third yellow card. She automatically turned red and caused Bilodid to be defeated.
