According to the police reconstruction, Hernández Fusaro committed the femicide and fled in his ex-wife’s car to stay in Guarapari, Espirito Santo, under a false name.
Noticing that the man had not left his room for some time, the hotel managers entered and found him dead with a firearm in his hand. The death of the accused was registered by the local police as suicide with a firearm, the spokesmen added.
From the Argentine consulate in Rio de Janeiro they assured that the event would have been the same day of the woman’s crime. Although his Brazilian identity card was found in the room where the body was found, the police are gathering more information since the recognition procedure is underway, waiting for him to be identified by a family member, which might happen. during this weekend.
Hernández Fusaro was the main accused of having murdered Trotta, a tourist businesswoman from Buzios with whom he had had three children and had separated in 2021. The lawyer Roberto Trotta, brother of Evangelina, will make a new court appearance next week on the basis of these novelties and in order to obtain the custody of adolescents.
The couple had been living in Buzios, a resort in the state of Rio de Janeiro, since 2002, and he was considered a fugitive since last April 22, the day the femicide was committed.
The body of Trotta (48), owner of a buggies rental business for tourists, was found in the followingnoon of that day in her home in the Joao Fernandes neighborhood, in said seaside resort.
In this regard, the Civil Investigative Police of Rio de Janeiro issued a statement in which it stated that a “woman of Argentine nationality was found dead inside a house on Jacob José Luiz Street, in Joao Fernandes, Armacao dos Búzios, possibly by knife blows”.
“There are no signs of breaking into the residence, the main suspect according to the information collected by the local police team would be the ex-husband of the victim, of Argentine nationality, who would be in a white HB20 vehicle,” they added.
The Brazilian investigative force also pointed out that the reason for the femicide would be an alleged “disagreement” over the separation with Trotta. The investigation of the alleged femicide began when employees of the Trotta tourism company, which is next to the house, found the woman’s body and called the local police station and the fire department. According to the Globo network, police personnel searched the area looking for the aggressor until the discovery of the body was finally reported.
