Female Dog Struggles Painfully in Animal Trap until Separation of Flesh from Hind Foot

[Animal News]Animal traps have been banned repeatedly, and dogs have suffered from them. A dog girl was caught in a trap in Pak Nai, Yuen Long, and she was forced to pull it out in panic. As a result, her left hind leg was torn apart, causing great pain. A 70-year-old uncle rescued the dog and contacted the NPV non-profit veterinary clinic for help in treatment. Unfortunately, the dog’s left hind foot could not recover, so he had to undergo amputation and was disabled ever since.

On the afternoon of March 14th, Uncle rescued a dog with a serious injury to its left hind foot. The injury was not only separated from its flesh and bones, but it was still entangled with the parts of the trap. It is known that the dog has been injured for many days, and the pain it has suffered is really real unimaginable.

Uncle brought the dog to NPV for treatment. The veterinarian had no choice but to amputate her leg. Fortunately, the operation was successfully completed. The dog is currently receiving nursing care. He hopes to stabilize his physical condition as soon as possible and adapt to the loss of a foot. Volunteers renamed the dog girl “Liang Liang”, hoping that she will become a healthy and pretty dog girl.

NPV criticizes animal traps as very cruel, pointing out that the “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance” states that any animal will suffer any unnecessary suffering due to cruel torture, anger or fright, and random or unreasonable behavior. It is illegal, “But who determines the “unreasonable” and “unnecessary” suffering? Does the Hong Kong government have sufficient guidelines for the legal use of animal traps? “
