An act of violence had been committed in the area of the municipality, said authority spokeswoman Manuela Weinkirn. A female corpse was discovered in vineyards. The woman had a cut injury. A search for a suspect continued into the evening hours.
Specialists from the Lower Austria State Criminal Police Office (body/life, crime scene) went to Zistersdorf. According to Weinkirn, the EKO Cobra, service dogs and a helicopter were also on hand.

The area around where the woman’s body was found was cordoned off. “Please follow the instructions of the emergency services on site,” wrote the Lower Austria State Police Directorate on the X platform (formerly Twitter).
