Feldkirchner Ambros finished the eventing competition in 34th place

The 44-year-old from Feldkirchen an der Donau was unable to improve in the final show jumping on his stallion Vitorio du Montet and finished the competition in 34th place. He missed the final of the best 25 by 9.7 penalty points.

After finishing 49th in the dressage, Ambros worked his way up to 33rd place in the cross-country. In the final competition of the equestrian triathlon in the park of the Palace of Versailles, Ambros received a total of ten penalty points due to two knockdowns and a time penalty, which put him back one place. Only without penalty points would he have made it to the final.

“Leave concentration”

“The ride started well. Vitorio du Montet is very confident in the course, up to the tenth it was zero, then maybe we lost a bit of concentration. All in all I am very satisfied,” said Ambros in an ORF interview.

Great Britain won gold in the team competition with 91.3 penalty points, ahead of France (103.6) and Japan (115.8).
