Hydro Fehervar AV19 is only missing one win to reach the playoff finals. The Magyars secured Game 4 once morest EC GRAND Immo VSV in front of their home crowd with 4:3. Captain Janos Hari scored the game winner in minute 63.
In the second series of semi-finals, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 clinched their third win in a row once morest weakened VSV on Wednesday – the blue and whites had to give up no fewer than seven players. The Hungarians took the momentum from the shutout victory in Villach and also presented in game 4️. Captain János Hári gave the home side the lead in the third minute. A Terbocs double strike within two minutes even made Fehervar 3-0, but Renars Krastenbergs wrote for the Carinthians in the first third.
In the 29th minute, the guests even equalized: First, Derek Joslin scored with the majority and only 55 seconds later Krastenbergs netted following a face-off win to make it 3:3. But Csanad Erdely brought the “cauldron” to a boil once more in Székesfehérvár with the 4:3. Both teams found chances in the final section, but the Villachers were unlucky when they shot at the pole. Only when goalie Karhunen made room for a sixth field player did Rick Schofield (59th) equalize once more. The game went into overtime and ended as it had started: with a Hari goal – the 29-year-old had the necessary luck on his side to score in the 63rd minute. This means that the Hungarians can already secure their first place in the final on Friday in Villach.
Due to the playoff elimination of the spusu Vienna Capitals, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 is also the third participant in the win2day ICE Hockey League in the Champions Hockey League 2022/23.
