Compromise result in the interests of everyone involved / Austria’s EEI remains competitive / Over 60,000 attractive jobs remain secure
Vienna (OTS) – In the third round of negotiations on the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry, which took place today, the employer side was able to agree on a justifiable solution with the employee representatives.
The actual and KV wages and salaries will increase by 9.9% as of May 1, 2023, but at least by EUR 325 per month. Apprentices receive a plus of 10.5%. The increases affect over 60,000 employees.
“After long and fair negotiations with the employee representatives, we were able to negotiate a compromise for everyone involved,” comments Wolfgang Hesoun, FEEI chairman and chief negotiator on the employers’ side.
“With this result,” Hesoun continued, “Austria will continue to play a strong role as a competitive location in the electrical and electronics industry in the future. For more than 60,000 employees in the sector, the result also means a secure and attractive job!”
