More than 2 thousand athletes confirmed for the event
More than two thousand and one hundred and three national and foreign participants are confirmed for the end-of-year event, according to a note from Tchaco Sports to which this newspaper had access.
This newspaper knows that athletes, in the federated, popular and Paralympic categories, have been intensifying their physical and mental components to be up to the task of the competition.
Meanwhile, Ernestina Paulino is optimistic regarding winning, but recognizes that it will be very difficult for her to win the competition due to the quality of her opponents.
It should be noted that the event has been held since 1954, and has already brought to Luanda some of the best runners in the world, namely Haile Gebrselassie in the 2011 edition and, in 2013, the five-time world champion of the Half Marathon, Zersenay Tadese, and Priscah Jeptoo, the female champion of the London and New York Marathon. Remember that the race did not take place in 2021, having been held in March 2022, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
