Federation of Syndicates of Bank Employees: There is no return without security measures

The Executive Council of the Federation of Banks Employees Syndicates in Lebanon held a meeting devoted to discussing developments related to the security plan in the banking sector.

In a statement issued following the meeting, the Federation Council demanded “secure security at work centers”, refusing to “return colleagues to work without security measures to ensure their security and the security of depositors during work hours.”

He also called on the various security references to “understand the union’s demand for the necessity of ensuring security in all work centers, especially since the threat to storm banks by force of arms is still being published on social media, the latest of which is the news issued by the gathering of depositors in Lebanese banks.” Advice to all depositors Thursday, the day of the attack on Banks, attack, fight, fight and free your money. He also stressed the necessity of “prosecuting those who make these threats that strain the public atmosphere and encourage violations of the law and the use of weapons to intimidate workers in the banking sector.”

In addition, the Council reiterated the need to “accelerate addressing the issue of deposits in the banking sector, give the necessary guarantees to depositors of different size of their deposits, and stop launching plans that absolve the state from assuming its responsibilities, as it is the one that squandered depositors’ money through failed financial policies, the latest of which was a draft budget.” 2022″.

And I regret that “all bank customers continue to suffer, especially those who receive their salaries through the settlement system due to the closure of banks, but in return the security of colleagues who have become threatened following the recent events in a number of banking branches cannot be disregarded,” calling on all depositors’ associations to “stop The policies followed in threatening banks and their employees, and adopting the means of protest that are sanctioned by law.”

Finally, the Federation Council decided to invite the Federation Council of Delegates to a meeting devoted to discussing arrangements for the success of the sit-in, which will be held before the end of the month, in order to confirm that the return to work is conditional on the adoption of a security plan that guarantees the safety of workers in the banking sector.
