Federation has nothing to do with relief in Punjab bills, rest of the provinces should do the same, Prime Minister – Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that a budget of 45 billion was allocated at the provincial level to provide relief in electricity bills in Punjab. The Federation had nothing to do with it. The rest of the provinces should do the same, in the name of Allah, give this relief to their people. Politics should be avoided on this.

Addressing the federal cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that in recent days, the Punjab government has given relief to consumers who use 200 to 500 units of electricity from their own resources.

The Prime Minister clarified that 60 percent of the budget goes to the provinces, which is in trillions, while the interest of the development loans taken is not paid by the provinces, so this money should be spent carefully. Fifty billion rupees. We gave relief of up to two hundred units of money, from which 86 percent of domestic consumers across Pakistan are benefiting.

He said that in partnership with the Balochistan government, a plan of 70 billion was made to shift tube wells from electricity to solar energy, in which 55 billion was the federal share and the rest is being contributed by the Balochistan government.

Prime Minister Shahaz Sharif further said that a staff level agreement has been reached with the IMF, inflation has to be further reduced. To collect tax revenue will have to work day and night. He said that the IMF will be taken fully on board in every case and will not take any stupid steps like the previous government. During this period, the country was on the verge of default, now due to the caretaker government and the current government’s policies, inflation has come down from 38 to 11 percent.
