The notebooks, as explained by Ricardo Dahab, director of Information Technology at the university, will be distributed in areas that require more resources. The TV Box devices will be used for various purposes, such as environmental sensors, access to virtual desktops in laboratories and even donated to needy students.

It is worth noting that TV Box devices are generally seized by the Federal Revenue Service, as they are used to access television channels without due payment, infringing copyright and constituting a crime against intellectual property and smuggling. Its import is prohibited for these reasons.

However, the Federal Revenue initiative to donate these seized devices to educational institutions, such as Unicamp, allows new applications to be developed, transforming these devices into minicomputers. This practice has boosted digital inclusion, with institutions converting these resources into benefits for the needy population.
