The Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed this Sunday through its social networks the unfortunate news of the death of federal prosecutor Federico Delgadoa prominent 54-year-old jurist who had participated in numerous high-profile cases in recent years linked to the local political scene.
Currently, Delgado was the head of the Federal Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 6of the Federal Capital, and although they have not yet been made explicit, the reasons for the death are linked to a severe illness, lung cancer.
“The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Nation expresses its deep regret for the death of José Federico Delgado and sends its condolences to his family, friends and collaborators. Delgado was the head of the Federal Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 6 of the city of Buenos Aires”, it was confirmed from the Attorney General.
In his career as a prosecutor, he promoted recognized causes, such as the illicit enrichment of José López, former Secretary of Planning during Kirchnerism, to the investigation of the Panama Papers that involved former President Mauricio Macri at the beginning of his administration.
