The federal police spoke on Twitter to warn Belgians of a scam aimed at taking their bank details. Several cases have been identified. False employees claim to be mandated by organizations such as the national bank, the European community in Brussels, the FPS Finances or the European Commission to inform the person that they have been the victim of a scam or harassment telephone. Claiming compensation that will be paid into the account, the scammers claim certain information including bank details. It also happens that the home address is requested.
The federal police remind you that you should never communicate this type of data.
❗ Attention ❗ Scams by fake bank employees. They contact you by phone, sometimes go to your home and steal your bank details. If so, call 101. Also tell your (grand)parents. More information: https://t.co/Ei2E73LDmr pic.twitter.com/PzLPfqRvN0
