Montreal (Quebec), December 6, 2024
The federal government and the City of Montreal are supporting the renovation of 726 housing units intended for families in Montreal.
The announcement was made by the Honorable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism, Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Member of Parliament for Hochelaga, as well as Valérie Plante, Mayor of Montreal.
Habitations Le Domaine, located at 2990, avenue de Granby in Montreal, is a property of Manage your neighborhood. The work will also allow the repair of balconies, the structure and the roof of certain buildings. The renovation project is expected to be completed by the end of March 2026.
Here are the funding details for the repair of the housing complex:
- nearly $10M in contributions from the federal government, through the Affordable Housing Fund (FLA);
- $150,000 from the federal government through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Seed Funding Program;
- the City of Montreal also contributes to the financing through its renovation programs. To date, it has already committed $1.4 million through its RENO affordable housing program.
