On June 4th, 2022, the election of the federal fire brigade president and the federal fire brigade headquarters was held in St. Pölten as part of the federal fire brigade day. The Upper Austrian became the new Federal Fire Brigade President. State Fire Brigade Commander State Fire Director Robert Mayer MSc from Schwanenstadt elected.
The President of the Austrian Federal Fire Service Association is elected every five years by the delegates at the Federal Fire Day. In addition to Robert Mayer MSc, the Lower Austrian provincial fire brigade commander Dietmar Fahrafellner MSc was also up for election. Robert Mayer MSc received 52 votes out of 100 in the second ballot.
The new Executive Committee of the Austrian Federal Fire Service Association is composed as follows: President Robert Mayer MSc and Vice President DI Dr. Gerald Hillinger, fire director of the Vienna professional fire brigade, Ing. Rudolf Robin, regional fire brigade commander of Carinthia and Peter Hölzl, regional fire brigade commander of Tyrol.
Numerous well-wishers waited for the newly elected President of the Federal Fire Brigade, Robert Mayer MSc, in the Schwanenstadt fire station to give him a dignified welcome. The state councilor Michaela Langer-Weninger, PMM, the district governor Dr. Johannes Beer, the mayor of Schwanenstadt Mag. Doris Staudinger with city and local councils, the fire brigade comrades of the Schwanenstadt fire brigade, the district and section commands of the district of Vöcklabruck, as well as numerous neighboring fire brigade comrades congratulated the new federal fire brigade chief of Austria and wished him all the best and good luck in his new role.
