Moscow. September 18. INTERFAX.RU – The Federal Antimonopoly Service issued warnings to mobile operators MTS, Megafon, Beeline and Tele2 and demanded that they cancel fees for distributing Internet traffic from mobile devices.

The FAS conducted an investigation into numerous complaints from subscribers and found that telecom operators are imposing on customers “unfavorable terms of the contract for the provision of communication services by setting fees for the distribution of Internet traffic from subscriber devices.” The service saw signs of violation of antimonopoly laws in the actions of the operators.

The FAS issued warnings to MTS, Megafon, Beeline and Tele2 to stop such actions. Companies must cancel fees for distributing Internet from mobile devices within a month and not allow this to happen once more. If they do not comply with the FAS requirement, the agency may initiate cases of violation of antimonopoly legislation.

The FAS recalled that in August 2023 it sent requests to the Big Four operators in order to establish all the circumstances and details, but did not receive from them “sufficient economic, technological or other justification.”
