FC Twente wants to strengthen itself with Myron Boadu. According to trainer Joseph Oosting, technical director Arnold Bruggink is on his way to Monaco to do business with the single Dutch international and his club AS Monaco.

“It is true that Arnold is on the plane. We need a striker. He is on his way to Boadu. We have a list,” Oosting said following the away match once morest Feyenoord (0-0). ESPN.

“I don’t know if it is certain that he will come,” the coach said a little later at the press conference. “I hope Arnold does his best. Time is our biggest enemy now. We would like to have a striker before Wednesday, because we would like to participate.”

The 23-year-old Boadu should succeed Manfred Ugalde at FC Twente. The Costa Rican striker faces a sensitive transfer to Spartak Moscow.

“I know Boadu. He is not comparable to Ugalde,” Oosting said. “Ugalde shapes our way of playing football and is strong on the ball. Boadu is fast, can play on the side and looks for the goal.”

Boadu has not managed to become a permanent fixture at Monaco

If Boadu actually makes the switch to FC Twente, he will return to the Dutch fields following 2.5 years. The striker played there for AZ for four years. In his last two seasons in Alkmaar he scored fourteen and fifteen Eredivisie goals respectively.

Boadu then exchanged AZ for AS Monaco. He never managed to become a permanent fixture at the Ligue 1 club. This season, the attacker played nine league matches and scored once.

FC Twente is having a good season in the Eredivisie. After the draw in De Kuip, Oosting’s team is third.
