FC St.Gallen 1879 vs SC Austria Lustenau: Match Recap and Albin Krasniqi’s Impressive Performance

2023-07-04 19:13:14

Despite being in the lead at half-time, we lost 2-1 to Austria Lustenau in Gossau. Under-21 player Albin Krasniqi scored his third goal in the third friendly.

Because AC Bellinzona canceled last Saturday’s friendly at short notice, Austria Lustenau jumped into the breach today, much to the delight of the more than 2,000 fans who came to the Buechenwald sports facility in Gossau. And they saw and heard something following just a hundred seconds, because Albin Krasniqi’s shot rattled off the crossbar. It would have been his third goal in the third friendly. But the U21 player made up for this in the 20th minute, when he rose highest following a corner kick from Jordi Quintillà and sank the ball into the far right corner of the goal. Our team might have led even higher at half-time, but we didn’t score another goal. But there was an unplanned change because Isaac Schmidt was injured in a collision. However, it shouldn’t be anything serious.

After the break, coach Peter Zeidler changed the whole team, just like once morest Dornbirn, only Nicolas Lüchinger, who replaced Schmidt in the 40th minute, logically stayed on the field. Inter’s loanee Mattia Zanotti made his debut on the other side of defence. But even he mightn’t prevent Lustenaus Fridrikas from being forgotten in the back of the defense and equalizing in the 70th minute. But that’s not all: Four minutes later Fridrikas doubled and was therefore worried regarding the final score. This is because we missed the 2:2 seconds before the end of the game, or the Lustenauer defended their goal with all means and were able to clear the ball twice just before the line. (man)
