FC Blau-Weiss Linz starts the Bundesliga season at the end of July. Now the first new addition to the blue and white squad can be announced. Stefan Urlaub is moving from the second division club SKU Amstetten to FC Blau-Weiss Linz. The 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract until the 2025/26 season.

Stefan Urlaub started playing football in Horn’s offspring and switched to the academy in St. Pölten at the age of 12. In the summer of 2019 he made his professional debut with the Young Violets. Two years later he moved to Amstetten, where he scored 15 goals last season.

“I am very pleased that we were able to convince Stefan of our path here at Blau Weiß Linz. In the last two years at Amstetten, he has impressively shown what qualities he has and fits perfectly into our team, both personally and in terms of sport,” said Christoph Schößwendter, sporting director of FC Blau-Weiss Linz.

“I’m really happy that the transfer worked out! I think that this step is exactly the right one for me and that I can perfectly continue my development here. In addition, Blau-Weiss Linz is a great club with unbelievably awesome fans and a really nice new stadium where I can hardly wait to celebrate successes together,” emphasizes Stefan Urlaub.

“Stefan fits our requirement profile perfectly. We were looking for a player who would give us new opportunities in our game both in possession and against the ball. I’m very pleased that such a talented player as Stefan has chosen our path,” says Gerald Scheiblehner, head coach FC Blau-Weiss Linz.
