The Attack Department speaks up!
Uli Hoeneß (70) wants the exchange theater between Robert Lewandowski (33) and FC Bayern to have a happy ending – and a quick one too. Hoeneß has long since identified the main culprit in the hiccup: Lewandowski’s advisor Pini Zahavi (78)!
Munich’s honorary president in the “Sport1” interview with a clear dig: “At the moment it didn’t go quite as he and his special agent in particular (meaning Zahavi, ed.) want it to, and then you’re angry. I would recommend everyone involved to remain objective, not to let the matter escalate, and then the sun will soon shine once more over the house of Lewandowski/Bayern Munich.”
But there can be no question of that at the moment. Lewandowski recently forced his exit like he has never done before. what happened Hoeneß: “Nothing happened. He’s the way he’s always been and makes sure he gets his interests met.”
As expected, Hoeneß thinks little of giving in to Lewandowski’s wish without an adequate replacement: “I’ve always said: If you don’t have an alternative that you think can replace him to some extent – at the moment it looks like that is difficult – then I would definitely advocate, like everyone else at the club, that he stays for another year. And then you have to see whether he will go on a free transfer next year or maybe even be extended once more, no one knows that.”
In any case, Hoeneß is not worried regarding the coming season: “I think the new team is being worked on very intensively, and if everything comes up that you presented to me this week, then I see a good chance that we will have one next year have an attractive team – with Robert Lewandowski.
He also has one piece of advice ready for his successors in Bavaria’s management level: “Basically, of course, we are a bit media-driven and every week some pig is driven through the village. The board must work to ensure that this stops.”
