FC Bayern Munich: Uli Hoeneß does without his mega Christmas tree! | Sports

Uli Hoeneß (70) saves his XXL Christmas tree this Christmas!

In recent years, the Honorary President of FC Bayern has always decorated a 30-meter-tall spruce on his property above Bad Wiessee.

Because of the energy crisis, the ex-president of the German record champions is giving up his attraction at Lake Tegernsee with 900 lights this Advent season!

Interesting Analysis Why Bayern is in the Neuer trap

Hoeneß on the “Münchner Merkur”: “I get asked regarding it so often. And I don’t want to provoke anyone.”

The Bayern legend found it difficult to give up his super tree. Many residents of the Tegernsee Valley love the Christmas tree and enjoy the beautiful lighting.

Next year, the ex-Bayern boss wants to decorate once more. A specialist company needs two days to make the spruce glow. More beautiful than ever? Hoeneß: “I have great hopes for that.”

Hoeneß is saving energy this year and helping the Tafel even more!

After a meal with his buddy Paul Breitner (71/has been working for the aid organization for years), the Sausage King gets even more involved with those seeking help because the food donated to the table is no longer enough.

With his son Florian (who took over HoWe Wurstwaren KG Nuremberg from his father) he delivers 1.5 tons of sausage per week to the Münchner Tafel and 300 kilograms to the Gmundner Tafel, which then distributes to Holzkirchen, Miesbach and Bad Tölz.

Above all, it is sausages that got crooked in production. Otherwise these went to the HoWe factory outlet – now to the homeless and other needy people for whom food is becoming increasingly scarce.

Hoeneß also loves the slightly crooked sausages: “They all taste great! I really like eating the Nuremberger, cut into small pieces, like a Gröstl, with a bit of onions, fried potatoes and gravy – I might do without any gourmet food for that.”
