Keeper Yann Sommer might leave FC Bayern Munich following just six months. There should already be talks with a top club.
Munich – The Squad planning at FC Bayern Munich is progressing. Under all circumstances, a similarly weak season as the last one should be avoided. FC Bayern is driving squad planning
After the two free transfers Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) and Raphaël Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund), the next duo is regarding to sign on Säbener Straße. Napoli’s Kim Min-Jae and Tottenham’s Harry Kane are absolute dream players and are set to sign a contract with FC Bayern Munich soon.
The German record champions also want to give up some players. There is an oversupply of players in the goalkeeping position in particular. Manuel Neuer is returning following his skiing injury last winter, Sven Ulreich is in the squad, Yann Sommer also has a contract and Alexander Nübel is back at Säbener Straße following his loan.

Nübel recently stated that he wants to switch to a club where he is number one and can play regularly. The second keeper who might make the departure is Yann Sommer. In winter he came as a replacement for Neuer from Mönchengladbach, but didn’t play particularly well in the second half of the season and will probably have to give way once more for the German international goalkeeper.
FC Bayern: Summer to Milan?
Inter Milan are apparently interested in summerlike the Italian daily newspaper Sports Courier reported. Accordingly, the top club does not want to extend the expiring contract with long-time goalkeeper Samir Handanovic and is instead looking for a replacement. Handanovic was number two last season behind regular seeder André Onana, who played a major role in the Champions League final.

Recently there have also been rumors of a change regarding Onana, Manchester United should have him in their sights. Sommer wants to be with Switzerland at the EM 2024 and also be in goal there. He can only do that if he is number one at a club next season. The 34-year-old is said to have already held talks with Inter Milan, but it is unclear whether the transfer will turn into the home straight. (smr)
