23-year-old offensive player Georgia Stanway has received a three-year contract with FCB. “Honestly, I’m so excited,” Stanway is quoted as saying in the statement from Munich. “It just feels right. It feels great to be able to share the news and my excitement with the world now. I can’t wait to get started and play for such a well-known club,” said the 29-time player English national player on her move from third place in the English table to the German Oberhaus.
Positive sign for the league
FC Bayern have “very big ambitions and I admire that very much,” said the World Cup and Olympic participant from 2019 and 2021, who has scored 67 goals in 186 competitive games for Manchester City since she took office in 2015 as a 16-year-old and in seven years became the record goalscorer for the “Skyblues”.
Bianca Rech, sporting director of the Bayern women, names various strengths that characterize the newcomer: “She is a very flexible, dangerous player and is also characterized by her mentality. It is also a big sign and a positive signal for the Liga that an English player chose Germany and FC Bayern,” said Rech.
