FC Barcelona has received UEFA’s decision regarding its participation in the Champions League next season.
The Catalan team had won the Spanish League title, and despite that it was threatened with exclusion from the European Championship due to its involvement in the Jose Negrera case.
UEFA informed Barcelona of its approval of its participation in the Champions League next season. According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”.
This came following the end of the investigations into the Negrera case, in which Barcelona is accused of paying money to a former official in the arbitration system to obtain confidential services.
The newspaper quoted sources in Barcelona, that the report of Miriam Koller and Jean-Samuel Lyuba, the inspectors assigned to investigate the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee, recommended that the European Union Appeals Committee allow Barca to play the continental championship, before informing the club of its decision.
She stated that FC Barcelona confirmed its presence in the European Championship draw on August 31 in Monaco.
