FBI: Trump shooter sought details of Kennedy assassination

Crooks, who was shot and killed after shooting Donald Trump in the ear on July 13, reportedly did research on how Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy in Dallas in 1963, Wray said in a committee hearing on the assassination Wednesday.

– Examinations of a laptop show that the shooter on July 6 looked up: “how many meters away from Kennedy was Oswald?”, said Wray.

July 6 was also the day Crooks reported to the election meeting where the shooting took place. At that point, Crooks was “obsessed” with Trump and his rally, according to the FBI chief.

Fired eight shots

Wray further stated that Crooks fired eight shots with an AR-15 rifle. The motive for the shooting is not yet known, but Wray said the shooter has been described as a loner and that he had few contacts in his phone book.

He also revealed that Crooks allegedly flew a drone near where Trump’s campaign rally was held, just hours before the campaign rally began. The FBI found the drone and an associated control in the 20-year-old’s car, and they will investigate the circumstances surrounding this drone flight.

In both Crooks’ car and home, explosive items designed to be detonated using a control were also found. He had a detonator with him when he was killed.

FBI: Will do everything we can

A number of questions have been asked about the security arrangements surrounding the caucus, but Wray says the FBI will do everything they can to investigate the security breaches that led to the shooting.

One person was killed in the shooting, while two others were injured. Donald Trump escaped the shooting with damage to his ear.
