A distinction is made between alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. As the name suggests, alcoholic fatty liver disease is caused by regular above-average alcohol consumption. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can develop due to a lack of exercise, an unhealthy diet or another illness.
Several symptoms might indicate fatty liver disease
The tricky thing regarding fatty liver disease is the symptoms, which are also associated with many other diseases, such as fatigue or bloating. Therefore, those affected rarely think regarding the possible formation of a fatty liver at first. The most common symptoms at a glance:

To prevent fatty liver disease, a healthy lifestyle is recommended. Means: no alcohol or drugs, enough sleep and exercise and a healthy, low-fat diet. For the benefit of the liver, it is advisable to avoid glucose and fructose. In addition, saturated fatty acids, such as butter, cream, sausage, cheese or fatty meat, should rarely if ever be on the menu.
