The Saudi artist, Fatima Al-Banawi, revealed the details of the pain and dispersion she suffered in her childhood due to the separation of her parents, and her transfer to live with each of them.

Al-Banawi said, during her stay as a guest on the “Stages” program on the Saudi SBC channel, that she was exposed to a memory during her childhood that she hopes to be erased permanently, which is the separation and separation that occurred between her parents, and it affected her a lot.

She added that at that stage she felt bitterly separated from her mother because she was living with her father, while she felt that her mother was very wronged, and following she succeeded in returning to live with the mother, she began to miss her father, pointing out that she had recovered from this period.

She confirmed that she has many half-brothers from her father and mother, and that despite the separation of her parents, their relationship is respectful and affectionate, and they were present with her when she graduated from Harvard University, and her father reassures his former mother-in-law, that is, her grandfather to her mother.

During the episode, Al-Banawi talked regarding her concept of friendship, which is that she and her friends get along when any of them undergo different changes, explaining that a number of her friends may not understand her correctly.

She added that her true friends do not wait for her to constantly explain her circumstances to them, noting that she has lost some people because of the changes that each of them went through.

The Saudi star confirmed that she loves to see herself in artwork, but she is nevertheless keen to constantly review herself. She explained that she is still searching for herself, but focuses during the current period on the story, without losing herself, noting that she is keen to take time to work on her films to appear as she wants.

Al-Banawi indicated that she studied psychology and was very interested in psychology and its relationship to drama and art, and following graduation, she worked in an association with many people who deserved help and were subjected to domestic violence, and she is still in contact with the organizers of this association until now.

Al-Banawi revealed that she loves to draw, but she is no longer drawing, noting that she has two paintings of her drawing hanging in her room at the present time, and that the drawing turned with her into works of art, noting that at one time she was very shy and her face was blushing from the slightest thing, and she did not She wasn’t talking a lot, but she was releasing that energy by drawing.

It is noteworthy that Fatima Al-Banawi’s latest work is the series “60 Minutes”, which was shown last year and co-starred with Yasmine Rais, Mahmoud Nasr, Sawsan Badr, Sherine Reda, Maha Nassar, Khaled Kamal and others, and the series was written by Muhammad Hisham Obeya and directed by Maryam Ahmadi.

Fatima Al-Banawi will also participate in the Malmö International Film Festival as a member of the jury of the Short Film Projects Fund, from 4 to 9 May, for the second year in a row, where she joined the festival last year as a member of the jury in the feature film competition.

Al-Banawi is awaiting the release of the movie “Sikka Tawila” in cinemas following its screening at the next Malmö Festival. It is produced by MBC Studios. The film was shown at the inaugural Red Sea International Film Festival.
