Fathers and mothers of five accused testify today for the crime of Fernando Báez Sosa

Fathers and mothers of five of the defendants, three defense experts and a police officer will testify today in the penultimate day of testimonials planned for the trial for the crime of Fernando Báez Sosa, occurred in the early morning of January 18, 2020 in the seaside resort of Villa Gesell.

Judicial sources indicated to Télam that there will be eight witnesses that will appear from 9 before the Oral Criminal Court 1 of Dolores, following others that were scheduled for the same date were withdrawn.

After the statements given this Monday by the mothers of Máximo Thomsen (23) and Blas Cinalli (21), for the twelfth day it is expected that those of Enzo Comelli (22), María Alejandra Guillén, and Ayrton Violaz (23), Erika Pizzatti, and those of the father of Matias Benicelli (23), Héctor Eduardo Benicelli, and that of Luciano (21) and Ciro Pertossi (22)Mauro Pertossi.

These testimonials they were initially scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday but they were brought forward at the request of the defense and, in that change, that of Ana María Tártara, mother of Lucas Pertossi (23), was withdrawn, who would thus be the only defendant of whom no direct relative will testify.

Andrés Santiago Martín is also quoted, deputy officer who intervened in the recording of an audio of the effective Maximiliano Rosso Suárez, who assisted the victim following the attack in front of the “Le Brique” nightclub.

They will also declare Pablo Alberto Rodríguez Romeo, computer expert who made technical reports on digital evidence, and María del Carmen Badaloni, head of the psychology section of the La Plata Expert Advisory.

The last witness scheduled for this day is Agustín Costa Shaw, clinical psychologist who took part in the supplementary criminal investigationand which was offered in March 2022 by the defense, led by Hugo Tomei, as a witness in a psychological and psychiatric examination to which the defendants finally did not agree to submit due to a lack of “trust” in the judicial process.

That refusal of the defendants to that expert opinion ten months ago unleashed a counterpoint between Tomei and the individual victimwhich called into question the value of Shaw’s testimony.

The discrepancy regarding the statement or not of this witness will be resolved today by the members of the courtindicated sources close to the cause.

Fernando’s parents are expected to witness the statementss in the courtroom on the first floor of the courts, as occurred during the previous days.
