The 15-year-old herself would never have thought that one day she would come across a fanatical follower. Eric Rohan Justin reaches out to her friends and bombards Ava with messages. When the 18-year-old visits the family one day and shoots a hole in the front door, the harmless Internet crush suddenly takes on a completely different dimension. “I thought for a moment my daughter was dead,” recalls Ava’s mother, Kim Majury.

When Ava’s stalker stands on the family’s doorstep a second time and threatens her father with a gun, he has no other choice: Rob shoots the 18-year-old and he dies before the police arrive. “I was afraid for my family and just had to do what I had to do to protect them,” Rob told ABC.
Since 2006 “Stand Your Ground” law in Florida
Due to the so-called “Stand Your Ground” law, which has been in force in Florida since 2006, Rob Majury does not have to answer in court despite the fatal shot. The law allows him to use force in the event of a subjective threat – even if it results in death.
