The police have booked the father of the ‘Hwaseong Infant Abandonment’ case on charges of aiding and abetting the abandonment.

The Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency’s Women’s and Youth Division is investigating the abandoned baby’s biological father A as a suspect on charges of aiding and abetting child abuse.

In January of last year, father A is accused of aiding and abetting the baby’s birth mother, B, who met three adult men and women at a cafe in Seoul and was present at the place where he handed over the baby and watched the abandoned situation.

Earlier, mother B stated in a police investigation that on December 25, 2021, following giving birth to a girl at a hospital in Seoul, she found someone who would take her daughter on the Internet and handed over the baby 8 days following giving birth.

The police believe that Mr. B, who has made a living by working part-time, committed the crime because he judged that he might not raise a baby alone.

Currently, it is reported that Mr. A and Mr. B are not living together.

The police said that Mr. B is making a detailed statement regarding the circumstances at the time, but that they are conducting a detailed investigation to confirm the credibility.
