French justice is looking for the father of a ten-year-old girl found asphyxiated at her home last Thursday in Haute-Savoie. She issued an international arrest warrant.
It was the older brother of the girl, born in 2011, who discovered the body last Thursday at the family home, located in Veigy-Foncenex, a town located on the Swiss border, announced the public prosecutor of Annecy, Line Beanie.
The child obviously did not die from the fire but from mechanical asphyxiation.

The house had been partially burnt down. The autopsy, however, concluded that “the child clearly did not die from the fire but from mechanical asphyxia,” said the magistrate.
The father, “unreachable since the evening of the facts”, has been actively sought following the discovery of the body. The victim’s parents were going through “a marital crisis”, according to the prosecutor.
Judicial information for “murder of a 15-year-old minor and degradation by fire”, cosaisine by two investigating judges from the criminal center of Annecy, is in the process of being opened. The investigation was entrusted to the research section of the Chambéry gendarmerie.
