Fatality as Stib bus collides with scooter driver in North district

During the early hours of Monday morning, a Stib 20 line bus collided with a scooter on Boulevard Simon Bolivar, in the Gare du Nord district. Sadly, the scooter driver passed away at the scene. The STIB has confirmed the incident and has referred to the police for further information regarding the tragic incident. There is speculation, unconfirmed by the police, that the young driver may have run a red light. Following the accident, the bus driver was understandably in shock, and was looked following by the STIB’s specialist team.
