The man might only be rescued dead by the air ambulance, according to the Ausserrhoden cantonal police.
A group of hikers noticed at 10.30 a.m. that a person had fallen below the Tierwies. The group alerted the emergency services. A police officer who happened to be present found the mountain hiker who had died in an accident a short time later in the steep terrain.
