The number of deaths in a microbus accident at the top of the July 26 axis increased to 9 cases as a result of the death of a 35-year-old man as a result of cardiac arrest.
The official in charge of the General Traffic Department’s operations room received a notification from the Emergency Police Department of an accident and the presence of injured people at the top of the axis.
Security and traffic services moved to the location of the report and an examination revealed that the steering wheel of a microbus coming from Sheikh Zayed towards Lebanon Square was faulty and overturned on the axle.
The accident resulted in 8 deaths – they were placed in the morgue of October Central Hospital – and 7 injured people were transferred to Sheikh Zayed Specialized Hospital for treatment, one of whom later died.
The Traffic Department avoided the effects of the accident along the road, and a report was issued regarding the incident.
