Fatal maritime accident in the bay of Fort-de-France: the captains of the boats are indicted

The two captains whose boats collided last Thursday in the bay of Fort-de-France, killing 1 and injuring 6, were indicted on Saturday followingnoon (August 6, 2022).

At the end of their police custody, the captains of the boats involved in the death of a 30-year-old man (a cook) and the injuries of six other passengers, were referred to the Fort-de-France prosecutor’s office in followingnoon (Saturday August 6, 2022).

Anthony, 27, is indicted for manslaughter and placed under judicial supervision with a ban on piloting a nautical device while the investigation is ongoing.

Same decision for Ismael 32, the other captain. He is indicted for manslaughter and placed under judicial supervision with a ban on piloting a nautical vehicle during the investigation.

The investigation continues to determine the responsibilities in this dramatic collision. The accident occurred on the evening of Thursday August 4, in the bay of Fort-de-France, on the sidelines of the Tour de Martinique in round skiffs.
