One person died as a result of a fire that occurred around 11:00 a.m. in Grace-Hollogne, the Liège firefighters said on Sunday evening.
The fire broke out in a house located rue des Champs, in Grâce-Hollogne. Despite the rapid intervention of paramedics at the scene, they were unable to resuscitate the victim, who died on the spot. Firefighters managed to pull two dogs and a cat alive from the flames.
The first elements of the investigation seem to indicate that the fire started in the kitchen of the dwelling accidentally causing the asphyxiation of the deceased, specified the parquet floor of Liège in the evening. However, a fire expert must still go to the site this week.
The person who died at the scene is a lady born in the 1940s who had difficulty moving and suffered from memory problems.
