As reported in our paper and digital editions, on Sunday, around 10:20 a.m., a lady who was walking her dog was violently hit by a car traveling at high speed while she was crossing a pedestrian crossing on Albert Street, in Kain , not far from the Epi d’or bakery.
The shock was very violent and the lady was thrown several meters from the point of impact, around twenty according to our journalist who went to the scene.
Taken to hospital in serious condition; we learned this Monday that the victim did not survive his injuries.
This accident and its dramatic consequences aroused a lot of anger among the mayor of Tournai who, this Monday morning, as part of the presentation of the new municipal budget, specifically mentioned the investments to be made in terms of security.
