A 20-year-old driver crossed the dividing rail on departmental 307 and hit cars coming in the opposite direction.
Four people from the same family were killed in a serious car accident in Yvelines on the night of Friday to Saturday, December 23, following being hit by a young man who lost control of his vehicle. The accident occurred on departmental road 307 near Bailly, a town located a few kilometers from Versailles.
The driver crashed into two cars
According to the gendarmerie, a 20-year-old driver of a Peugeot 206 lost control of his vehicle, crossing the dividing rail and colliding head-on with cars arriving in the opposite direction. He first hit a Renault Espace containing members of the same family, namely the parents, aged 62 and 71, and their two children, aged 32 and 34. These four people died.
A third vehicle occupied by a 34-year-old woman and her two- and three-year-old children also hit the Peugeot 206, but they were not injured. The driver who caused the accident was transported to the Percy military hospital in Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine) as an absolute emergency.
Emergency services intervened between 12:30 a.m. and 5:20 a.m. using four ambulances, a nursing vehicle, two road emergency vehicles and a fire van. The gendarmerie, municipal police and the mobile emergency and resuscitation service (Smur) were also mobilized to the scene of the accident
