The event occurred at the Nanning intersection, in the Frutillar commune. The victim is a 31-year-old man who lived in Osorno.
A man died early this Saturday following falling from his motorcycle and later being struck by a vehicle in the middle of the highway, in the commune of Frutillar.
The accident occurred at 4:00 a.m. in the Cruce Nanning de la Ruta 5. The deceased was moving from south to north when the fateful event occurred.
The victim was 31 years old and resided in the city of Osorno.
According to information from the Carabineros, the motorcyclist lost control of the vehicle and fell on the road, following which he was hit by a car.
“Apparently it fell by itself. In the first instance, there is no participation of third parties regarding the fall, ”explained the Lieutenant of the Frutillar sub-station, César Aguayo.
In addition, he pointed out that the reason for which he lost control of the motorcycle “will be the subject of an investigation.”
Carabineros pointed out that there is no information regarding the vehicle that ran over the man, although it is possible that it was “a high-tonnage mobile”due to the degree of injuries that the victim’s body has.
