Berlin – Fatal accident in the capital! An Uber driver ran over a man in Berlin on Sunday morning.
The tragedy in the right lane happened at 5 a.m. According to police findings, the driver was not to blame for the man’s death. “The man was already lying on the road when the driver ran him over,” said a police spokeswoman. She could not say how long he had been lying there.
But: “According to current information, the man was still alive when the accident happened. He died from injuries sustained by the car.”
The spokeswoman could not say whether the man had fallen onto the road shortly before and then remained lying there dazed. “We still have to wait for the results of the forensic examination.” The driver of the “Uber” suffered a shock and had to receive medical attention.
Several eyewitnesses to the serious accident were cared for in a fire brigade bus. The man who died was from Ukraine and lived in Frankfurt (Oder).
A specialist department for traffic offenses of the Berlin police, an expert from Dekra and an officer from the State Criminal Police Office began investigating the cause of the accident at the scene.
