Fast Track Driving Licenses in UAE: Sharjah Police’s ‘One Day Test’ Initiative

Sharjah: 194 people passed the ‘One Day Test’ initiative announced by the Sharjah Police for driving license tests in the UAE within two weeks. The license is issued by conducting the preliminary and civil tests on the same day. The ‘One Day Test’ initiative is for National Service recruits and high school graduates.

The Licensing and Drivers Affairs Department of the General Command of Sharjah Police said that the scheme is receiving good response and more applications are under consideration. So far, 194 people, including men and women, have been given licenses.

It is a two-step process. The first step is to open an electronic file through the Ministry of Home Affairs application and attend online classes. No need to attend in person. All theory classes must be attended online. Those who pass the online theory test will be given practical training under the guidance of expert instructors. After that, a date will be scheduled for the final test covering provisional and city licenses. Trainees can complete their tests on the same day.

The ‘one-day test’ initiative will last till the end of September. Director of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department Colonel Khalid Muhammad Alke requested those who wish to avail it to take advantage of the remaining period. More information is available on the department’s helpline (901).
