Fashion Week: Boston Dynamics robot dogs paraded for Coperni

Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2023 has been in full swing since the start of the week in Paris, and the brands are ready to do anything to stand out from each other. This is particularly the case of Coperni, which has chosen to parade robot dogs designed by the American brand Boston Dynamics, as reported by BFM TV.

Models in black dresses and yellow four-legged robots, this is the spectacle offered by the Coperni-Boston Dynamics partnership. The robot dogs, with long necks and articulated legs, distinguished themselves by holding the handbags of the models during their performance. One of the robots also illustrated itself for the time of an accomplice exchange with one of the models, before removing her jacket. As Vogue magazine points out, it was a staging of the fable “The Wolf and the Lamb” by Jean de La Fontaine, more than ever revisited for once.

The intervention of robots during a fashion show is far from being a first. During London Fashion Week in 2018, a robot, closer to man than dog, also walked the catwalk. Other robots had also distinguished themselves in parades from the end of the 1990s.

For Coperni, Friday evening’s demonstration is one more opportunity to get people talking and to stand out. The French brand had already caused a sensation last fall with Bella Hadid’s “spray dress”. Entering the stage wearing panties, the model was then covered with paint, thus forming a dress following ten minutes of solidification.
