Farmers still mobilized in France before government announcements

Farmers were mobilized from the early hours of Friday morning on French roads at dawn of the announcement of rapid-effect measures from French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, intended to respond to their demands. They threaten to continue the blockades if these measures are not considered up to par.

In the meantime, farmers remained mobilized at dawn on Friday. The A1 motorway, a major axis linking Paris to northern Europe, was closed to traffic in both directions both north of Paris, near Senlis, and south of Lille, causing significant difficulties. of circulation.

Farmers plan to block the A1 motorway near the Chamant toll in both directions between Paris and Lille. The Oise prefecture has authorized the closure of the A1 for around forty km until 11:59 p.m. Friday.

Farmers also spent the night on the A16 in Amblainville, 60 km from Paris, ready to move closer to the capital depending on government announcements. The Ile-de-France sections of the FNSEA and Young Farmers called on their members to gather on Friday on the main roads around the capital.

Reduction in GNR (non-road diesel), minimum price for their products, or payment of long-overdue aid or compensation, or even a moratorium on the ban on pesticides, as newly requested by the FNSEA, are among the 140 demands made by the majority union. However, some require legislation or negotiations at European Union level.
