A farmer identified as Julio José Gómez, 80 years old, was found dead in a wooded area adjacent to his residence, located in an alley in the El Rodeo sector of the Tiara population, Santos Michelena municipality, Aragua state.
The body of the octogenarian was found by his relatives at around 6:30 pm last Saturday. The corpse was hanging from a tree.
According to information gathered by journalists from the crime news source, Julio José was going through a depressive state due to the fact that for some time he had been experiencing severe inflammation in his prostate, which was deteriorating his physical and mental health.
Relatives, saddened by the death, said that they had repeatedly advised Gomez to see a specialist to treat this condition. However, this advice was not taken into account by this man who, according to the information provided, had repeatedly told them of his desire to cease to exist.
A commission from the Las Tejerías Municipal Delegation detective corps went to the scene of the discovery to remove the body, interview the relatives and inspect the site, as part of the investigation process which was reported to the Superior Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry of the state of Aragua.
