Färjestad defeated Malmö at home in Thursday’s match in the SHL. 5-4 (1-0, 2-1, 2-3) ended the match and the big hero was Liam Öhgren.

15:09 into the third period, Liam Öhgren scored Färjestad’s winning goal. With this, Färjestad has twelve straight victories in the SHL and is heading towards the series victory.

Färjestad started the match energetically and took the lead right at the beginning of the match. After only 3.05, Michael Lindqvist struck on a pass from Liam Öhgren. After 2.40 in the second period, Adam Ollas Mattsson struck, played by Thomas Berg Paulsen and Albert Sjöberg and equalized for Malmö.

Färjestad’s Magnus Nygren made it 2-1 following 7.25 on a pass by Marcus Nilsson and Joel Kellman. Liam Öhgren also made it 3-1 following 9.47 on passes from August Tornberg and Marcus Westfält. Malmö led the game in the third period. The team won the period 2-3, but Färjestad was able to hold on and win the match 5-4.

Färjestad is in strong form with five wins and a 22-13 goal difference in the last five games, while Malmö has three wins and two losses and a 16-12 goal difference. This was Färjestad’s seventh odd-goal win this season. The loss was also Malmö’s 16th odd-goal loss.
