Farewell to Laughter: Comedian Tariq Teddy’s Heartfelt Legacy

Renowned comedian Tariq Teddi left his fans in mourning on Saturday morning after suffering from liver disease in Lahore. In his last days, his residence was in Allama Iqbal Town area of ​​Lahore.

Hailing from Faisalabad, Punjab, Tariq Teddy ruled the theater as an actor. His entry into the theater was considered the success of any stage play.

His co-star Azhar Ali said that he was suffering from liver disease for a year. He was admitted to the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), where he passed away after a few days of treatment before undergoing a liver transplant.

Tariq Teddy was 46 years old. His wife died 16 years ago. He has only one son, whom he fondly called Sonu, and even at the time of his death, he was only worried about his son.

Tariq Teddy started working in local theaters in Faisalabad and shifted to Lahore in 2004. Soon, his distinctive juggling brought him to a prominent position. A few years later, his entry drama was considered a success in theaters across Punjab.

According to his co-actors, he was a good-natured and brave person. Even before his death, he was not afraid but kept smiling and talking.

A journey from theater to film

Tariq Teddy’s co-star Azhar Ali, who spent his last days with him, told Independent Urdu: ‘He was ill for a long time but did not let it show. I was forced to keep them with me to take care of them. Their son is studying so there was no one to look after him.’

According to Azhar: ‘He started working in Indian Punjabi films some time ago and was signed for five more films after the response. He was supposed to go to London for the shooting of the movie ‘Dramawale Lug’ but could not go due to illness.

“Before that, he also worked in the film ‘Salakheen’ and he had five more films to do.”

According to Tariq Teddy’s co-star Qaiser Pia, he called him for a meeting this Saturday morning and entrusted the responsibility of his son to ‘take care of my son.’

Qaiser said that Tariq Teddy loved his son very much after the death of his wife and he was worried about his son after him.

Tariq Teddi, though uneducated, was a present mind and plays included his own dialogues and gags rather than scripts.

According to Qaiser: ‘Hundreds of theater plays were done, now I don’t even remember the number. We have been working together since the beginning. He neither envied anyone nor tried to look down on anyone. Just focused on his work and ran away from artificiality.’
