What better farewell to Junior for Sebastian Viera to be with several of the players he had as teammates on the shark team, with whom he won titles and with whom he forged a lifelong friendship.

The appointment might not be in a different place than the Roberto Melendez Metropolitan Stadium, where he celebrated goals, victories and where his name was chanted countless times by junior fans.

Viera officially says goodbye this Saturday (5:00 pm) to Junior, the team to which he gave himself body and soul in the last 12 years of his life. Of which he became captain and idol forever and in which he set a mark that will be difficult to beat, the one with the highest number of games played (638).

In the last dance of the Uruguayan goalkeeper, his friends will face the current Junior team. In the first group there will be rojiblancas legends like Carlos ‘Kid’ Valderrama, Víctor Danilo Pacheco, Teófilo Gutiérrez, Giovanni Hernández and Luis Narváez, among others.

Colombian soccer players who are active in European football such as Luis Diaz and Luis Fernando Muriel and other ex-Junior players like Carmelo Valencia, Édinson Toloza and ‘Carachito‘ Dominguez.

The invited technicians are Julio Comesaña, Alexis Mendoza and José ‘cheche’ Hernández.

Viera will start playing with the current Junior, then give way to James Mele and he will go on to play on his friends’ team.

“It’s not a goodbye to football, it’s a goodbye to Junior. This comes to me at 40 years old, it comes to me prepared, I’m enjoying it and we’re all very excited and anxious”, Viera told Win Sports, the channel that will broadcast the game live.

One more fan of Junior is leaving, an emblematic player, who kept his promise until the end that in Colombia he would not play for another team that was not the shark. A goalkeeper who celebrated 13 goals and seven titles with the rojiblanca squad to end up becoming a legend.
